Size
The proposed Yarrabilba community is situated on a 2,012 hectare site.
Location
Yarrabilba is located 40 kilometres south-east of the Brisbane CBD, 35 km north-west of Southport and 15 minutes from Logan Central.
Local Municipality
Logan City Council (Note: this site is a declared Urban Development Area under the Urban Land Development Authority).
Target Commencement Date
Late 2011
Development Period
Estimated 30 years.
Total Dwellings
More than 17,000 homes are currently proposed.
Estimated Population
More than 45,000 people will eventually call Yarrabilba home.
Employment
 | Land allocated to employment generating uses; including light industry, business parks, commercial office space and retail is over 160 hectares. |
 | In addition to the thousands of permanent jobs, Yarrabilba is expected to sustain over 1,000 construction jobs and more than 100 traineeships during each year of development. |
Open Space
Over a quarter of the site will be reserved for a connected open space system including the additional planting of millions of trees/shrubs. Additional conservation area has been dedicated adjacent to the Plunkett Conservation Reserve.
Education & Community
A full range of education facilities will be offered, from early child care and learning to secondary and potentially higher learning. As a fully master planned community, there will also be a range of services and facilities to meet the needs of the Yarrabilba community.
Sport and Recreation
Yarrabilba will have over 120km of dedicated pedestrian and cycle paths, as well as recreation and leisure activities in each neighbourhood centre.
